Top Fresh a Sormac showroom:
The success of Top Fresh is reflected in the number of hectares of carrots. The company, headed by a fervent Peter Matthijssen, started back in 2004 with a few hectares - but now grows on no less than 200 hectares. As well as being an important grower, Top Fresh is also a leading processor and exporter of carrots and carrot products. The vision of Top Fresh extends beyond simply growing carrots. The company devotes a lot of attention to processing carrots into semi-finished or end products. Sormac has played an increasingly important role here since 2006. In the meantime the initially cautious cooperation has developed into a solid relationship. The result is that practically all the machines in Sormac's range for carrot processing can be found at Top Fresh. So it's not strange to hear Sormac director Bert Haffmans refer to Top Fresh as ‘our showroom’!
Sormac at Top Fresh:
It all started with a knife peeler KP-60/HS. This was followed by the delivery of a processing line for baby carrots, an article about which appeared in the Sormac UpDate of September 2008. This line contained two CRR revolver peelers to peel carrots. Since the installation, Peter Matthijssen has been more than satisfied with the performance. Thanks to the tiny distance between the abrasive rollers (< 4 mm) the peelers are highly suitable for baby carrots. The last Sormac offspring in the machinery park at Top Fresh is a WOA-3, an industrial machine that automatically singulates carrots and positions them in three lanes, after which the carrots are topped and optionally cut into pieces.
Wide range of products:
The spectrum of carrot products that Top Fresh can create using the Sormac machines is virtually unlimited. Examples include brushed, graded, cut, peeled and knife peeled carrots, baby carrots, shaped Parisienne carrots, carrot sticks and carrot wedges. This means that Top Fresh offers an assortment that can meet almost every wish their customers may have!
