Carrot Flipper
This machine assesses the orientation and length of each individual carrot. Any carrots facing the wrong direction are rotated by 180º.
Operating principle
To automatically feed the Sormac knife peeler type KP-60/HS it is necessary that the carrots are correctly orientated into the machine with the pointed end facing forward in the direction of flow, it is also a major benefit when using it in combination with the carrot topper/piece cutter type WOS-1A.
Carrots are randomly orientated from the shufflo flow into the V-belt. Carrots that are wrongly positioned are corrected by the Sormac CF-60. The Sormac Carrot Flipper system is a V-belt with a camera, turning point and an ejection system for short pieces. The camera assesses the orientation and length of each individual carrot. Carrots facing the wrong direction (crown first) are automatically rotated 180° and all other product that is too short for processing in the knife peeler is detected and ejected.
The carrots are then transported further to interface with the V-belt of the knife peeler or carrot/piece cutter. The Carrot Flipper is supplied with a control panel which is connected to the shufflo product singulator and the knife peeler.
