Coopérative des Producteurs Légumiers, France; carrot cutting- and grading line

Cooperative des Producteurs Legumiers, carrot grading

Cooperative des Producteurs Legumiers, carrot cutting

One of the companies Sormac works with in France is a cooperative in the Vendée that produces and processes various vegetables. In an excellent  co-operation Sormac designed a carrot processing  line for this cooperative in 2005 . It includes an automatic carrot topper and cutter WOA-3, a carborundum peeler, a knife peeler and various transport belts and bunkers.

The automatic carrot topper WOA-3 is a heavy duty, 3-lane machine. It tops and tails carrots automatically and slices them – if wished – into pieces. With the WOA-3 Sormac once again made a conscious decision to use static knives, as rotating knives give more product loss and cause more soiling in the machine. Sormac’s carrot cutter ensures sliced carrots with an attractive smooth and straight cut surface. The WOA-3 can be placed on the floor, where outfeed conveyors are used It's more practical however to integrate the machine in a processing line by placing it on a platform. Sormac’s WOA-3: a friendly guillotine!
