Vihannes Laitila, Finland; baby carrot line

Vihannes Laitila baby carrot line

In 2005 Sormac supplied a new line for baby carrots to Vihannes Laitila. In the meantime the company has evolved rapidly and expanded its activities considerably. All moves which resulted in a large order being placed in early 2007 with Sormac for a carrot processing  line. The new processing machinery and the existing baby carrot  line were merged. The result is a processing plant with two separate production lines, fed by three bunkers. These two lines can operate independently, but there are also plenty of ways to combine the lines. The flexibility and processing capacity are so large that more than 6,000 tons of finished products can be supplied each year.

Sormac supplied the new processing line in close cooperation with Vihannes Laitila and EMVE Finland. EMVE is a company that also produces machinery for the vegetable processing industry. In the new factory the line is a combination of
* de-stoners, washer, graders and transport belts from EMVE,
* a WOA-3 fully automatic carrot topper and a CRP-12V variable speed roller peeler from Sormac,
* existing equipment, including a line for baby carrots and dipping tanks, all previous supplied by Sormac.
